It’s no secret about how much Kim Kardashian loves her shapewear! September of this year, she launched her very own line of shapewear and called it SKIMS. Her love affair with shapewear started when she was a teenager and now she wants to share her passion with the world.
But, how does her shapewear collection compare to one of the biggest shapewear marketplaces online? Shapermint is every woman’s go-to place for all of their shapewear needs, offering dozens of the best shapewear brands available. SKIMS by Kim Kardashian only sells one shapewear collection – SKIMS.
But how do these companies differ? Here is the battle of Shapermint vs. SKIMS.
On the other hand, Shapermint proudly uses women from all ethnic groups, shapes and sizes. And they firmly believe that all women are beautiful with or without shapewear. None of their models are professionals, just real women, like you and me. Plus, you will be tickled pink when you discover on their webpage that all of the lumps and bumps have not been erased.
Another factor we took into consideration was the actual product itself. So we went ahead and ordered two similar best-selling products from each company – a bra and a shaping short.
Let’s start with the SKIMS bra and shaping short. We loved the fact we can order them in nine different skin tones. It was fun trying to match the right color to our skin.
The bra was very comfortable and looked incredibly sexier on. We all admitted that we even felt sexier too. But we wouldn’t recommend it if you had to walk fast, as it lacked support to keep your girls steady. Plus it was a chore trying to get into the bra, as there is no clasp at the back.
Then we slipped on the Skims shaping short. We loved the soft buttery feel against our skin and the seamless design. We just wished that it had a little bit more compression for those special occasions. One SKIMS review stated that they found these shaping shorts made her rear look flat and lifeless; sadly we’d slightly have to agree.
Now, since Shapermint offers more than one brand of shapewear, we decided to order their best-selling bra and shaping short. We tried out the Bali comfort bra, which only came in two not-exciting colors – white and black. But once we slipped into the bra, wow! It definitely isn’t the sexist bra, but where it lacks in sex appeal, it makes up for in comfort. Perfect fit and support made this bra a winner.
The Shapermint shaper short had 5 stars reviews, so we had to give it a try. It was easier to slip into than the SKIMS and we were amazed. There is a reason this shaper short is Shapermint’s bestseller. It doesn’t just define your waist but creates an hourglass figure and tucks you in exactly where you need it most. One Shapermint review summed up the experience: “WOW! Shapewear that actually shapes without compressing.”
Another little gem that makes Shapermint a winner is the fact that they actually listen to their customer’s reviews and feedback. If there is one Shapermint review that is negative, they will immediately stop selling that item. How is that for loyalty?
Other all, both stores offer an excellent product, but their success depends on their ability to provide you with the product you need and desire. At the moment, Shapermint is in the lead, but it will be interesting to see how Kim Kardashian listens to her fans and critics about her new brand.
